I am a Ph.D. Student in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech! I research new biomaterials and stem cell therapies. Biomaterials can send different signals to the cells and make them change their behaviors. We are trying to make stem cells act like medicines for lots of different diseases, and investigate how new materials can make these stem cells better at doing their jobs!
I do research on new materials to be used in manufacturing stem cell therapies. I look at how biomaterials can tell cells what to do, and how they can change how cells will act in the body!
Engineering is a unique career in that you get to use science and mathematical principles to solve real-world problems. The process of problem-solving underlying everything I do is what really inspires my day to day work.
I attended the University of Maryland for my Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering. I currently am pursuing my Ph.D. at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University in Biomedical Engineering.
My family is my greatest inspiration and are my biggest supporters!
My favorite book is The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah! A young woman stands up for what she believes in and risks it all. A really powerful story about sisterhood and struggle.
